St Pauls Cathedral held together with Stainless Steel.

The Image shows a general view looking down on a huge crowd of people filling Ludgate Circus in London, probably to watch the Lord Mayor's Procession held just before the armistice that ended World War I.

Not long after this, in 1925, the original Iron chain which held St Paul's dome together was replaced with a stainless steel one. The great dome of the cathedral is 110 feet wide and 368 feet high and the chain holds it together without the need for buttresses
